Sleeping position changes where your body concentrates pressure and where the mattress must resist sinkage. That makes position one of the best starting filters for firmness.

Side

Needs shoulder and hip accommodation. Too firm can create pressure; too soft can let the torso bow.

Back

Needs lumbar contact plus enough support under the pelvis to maintain a neutral curve.

Stomach

Needs particularly stable midsection support because excessive hip sink can exaggerate the lower-back curve.

Combination

Needs a compromise: enough pressure relief for side sleeping but enough responsiveness and support for easy repositioning.

Bottom line

Use this guide as a decision framework, then verify current specifications, pricing and return terms before buying. Mattress fit is personal, and no single model is best for every sleeper.
